Michelle Dockery is scheduled to appear on the U.S talk show The View on Feb 10th.  The announcement  was tweeted from one of the crew members of The View.

As Lady Mary Crawley in Downton Abbey she had a scandalous dalliance with a Turkish diplomat. Now Michelle Dockery has revealed she harbours a dark side and would like to get her teeth into grittier roles. The actress, 30, from Romford, is a fan of Carey Mulligan’s movie Shame, and said she’d love a role like Mulligan’s in the film about sex addiction.

At the InStyle Best Of British Talent party at Shoreditch House last night, Dockery, seen far right with Laura Carmichael who plays Downton’s Lady Edith, said:

“I can’t imagine leaving Downton and I have no intention of it, but I’d love to go into films at some point. I have a side many people don’t see and would love to have a go at grittier roles. I thought Carey Mulligan was fantastic in Shame. That is the sort of role I’d love – I suppose it’s not what some people might expect of me.”

Actress Siobhan Finneran says she isn’t often recognized as Sarah O’Brien, her scheming Downton Abbey character.

As the actress noted during an interview with The Huffington Post in late 2011 in Los Angeles, where the cast of the Golden Globe-winning PBS series was promoting the show, “I don’t look quite as…”

“Severe?” I offer.

Finneran laughed heartily. “I think that’s a nice way of putting it,” said the actress.

But when she is recognized as O’Brien, the tart-tongued personal maid of Cora, the Countess of Grantham, she said fans positively revel in the character’s reputation as the least friendly servant in Lord Grantham’s stately home.
